Randy L. Buckmiller, 58, Mandan, died December 29, 2017, after a short battle with cancer. He gave it a hard fight but lost the battle. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 Noon Wednesday, January 3, 2018, at Church of St. Mary, 806 E. Broadway Ave., Bismarck, with Rev. Msgr. Gene Lindemann officiating. Cremation has taken place. Randy was born September 13, 1959, in Bismarck, ND, to Carl and Janice Buckmiller. He was raised in Bismarck and Mandan. Randy graduated from Mandan High School and worked several jobs before he made his career at Mid America Steel where he worked for 39 years. Randy married Michelle Wagner on November 11, 1977, and they shared 40 beautiful years together. They had two fantastic children from that marriage, Michael and Christopher, who Randy loved very much. Randy loved to camp, fish, bowl, and of course, cheer his Vikings on. He was a very special person to all he met and became a friend. He was always the first to lend a hand and expected very little in return. He was a true friend and one who could always be counted on and trusted-he will be missed very much by all who knew him. Randy is survived by his wife, Michelle; his sons, Michael (Lee Ann), and their children, Xzavier, Quinn, and Ryker, Fargo, and Christopher (Maria), and their daughter, Carly, Bismarck; his mother, Janice, Bismarck; his four sisters, Cindy (Dean Deihl), Carson, ND, Tammy, Bismarck, Renae (Robert Friesz), Flasher, and Sheri (Dean Miller), Bismarck; his father-in-law, Michael Wagner; and brother-in-law, Mark (Susan). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; three aunts, Elverna Schlickenmeyer, Rosella Grant, and Joyce (Milton Hein); and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Carl; his grandparents; and his mother-in-law, Tillie Wagner.
