Randy was born on June 29, 1955, to Robert and Mary Ganyo in Grand Forks, ND. He graduated from Grand Forks Central High School in 1973.

After high school, Randy spent time living and working in various places, including Bemidji, MN, and Beulah, ND. On September 25, 1982, he married the love of his life, Peggy Fladland, in Grand Forks. Soon after, they moved to Bismarck to build a life together and start their family. They had three beautiful children: Kurtis Randall, Michael Robert (passed away at an early age), and Kelsie Ray.

Randy worked in construction for many years, ultimately serving as a superintendent. He retired in 2018, after working for Capital City Construction of Bismarck for over 30 years, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and craftsmanship.

A true lover of life, Randy had a passion for classic, as well as modern cars, especially Corvettes. With his first being a Stingray, followed by a 1997 Corvette, and later a 2006 Corvette—each one driven with pride. He enjoyed music, especially listening to Bruce Springsteen and Johnny Cash. He was a skilled outdoorsman who loved duck and goose hunting at Coe Lake, pheasant hunting, fishing, and camping—especially when it involved storytelling around a crackling campfire.

His love of travel took him to Florida, Hawaii, Mexico, Glacier National Park, and Yellowstone, always appreciating the beauty and adventure each place had to offer. At home, he found peace in nature, watching deer and pheasants wander through the backyard.

More than anything, Randy cherished family and adored his grandchildren. He never missed a chance to cheer them on at sporting events, attending concerts and birthday parties, or just simply watching them. He treasured time spent taking them fishing at the Kiddie Pond while camping, giving them rides in the Corvette or on the riding lawn mower, taking walks, and playing at the park with them. He was extremely proud of his kids and their families and what they have accomplished in their lives: getting married, starting their own families, taking on careers and having such a strong bond with him.

Known for his knowledge, Randy was the first person friends and family would call when a project needed doing—he was always willing to lend a hand. He was also a gifted artist with a natural talent for drawing and creativity.

Randy is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Peggy; children, Kurtis (Kylee) Ganyo of Bismarck, ND and Kelsie (Colton) Brostuen of Williston, ND; grandchildren, Beckette and Blakely Brostuen, and Walter and Vera Ganyo; sister, Roxy (Wayne) Worden of Manvel, ND; sisters-in-law, Sally (Larry) Miller of Breezy Point, MN, and Glory Fladland of Grand Forks, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mary Ganyo; son, Michael Robert Ganyo; parents-in-law, Raymond and Faye Fladland; and brother-in-law, Paul Fladland.

Memorials may be made out to Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 1143 N 26th St, Bismarck, ND 58501, or Holy Trinity Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, Tabor, MN, 56762.
