Fetch
July 13, 1957 – May 14, 2026
Rene Fetch passed away the morning of May 14 after a long battle with COPD.
A Committal Service will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, May 21, at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, 4606 Sate Hwy 1806, Mandan.
Born July 13, 1957, in Beulah, ND, he attended school in Beulah and Hazen, later in Bismarck. He was born to Dell Spier and Philip Fetch. He married Lillian Roll, and together they had two children, Wesley and Christina. He lived in California and later moved to Florida, then to Colorado, before moving back to North Dakota two years ago.
He worked as a professional carpenter; his work is visible in both Bismarck and Mandan. Later, he started his own business called “Decks R Us.” He built many decks on million-dollar homes in Colorado. He cheered for the Denver Broncos. He enjoyed watching the activity in the sky and had many photos.
Rene loved his snow-white cat with two different colored eyes named Casper. He trained Casper to do several tricks. He loved the cat dearly; unfortunately, Casper got ill and died on April 7 of this year. The death of Casper broke Rene’s heart, and he never recovered.
Rene had a heart of gold and was there for anyone that needed a hand. He had many friends. He was an avid inventor and never asked for anything. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving him are his brother, Howell Fetch and wife Wanda; his half-sister, Deb Fetting and husband Loel; his children, Wesley and wife Sonya, and sister Christina Slatter and husband Kyle Slatter; two grandchildren, Amelia and Oliver; his mother, Dell Spier; his uncle, Murel Spier; Aunt Diana Zimmerman and husband Jim Zimmermann; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Deceased are his father, Philip Fetch; grandparents Henry and Freda Spier, Mike and Katherina Fetch; and his aunt Judy Spier, along with many other close relatives.
Burial is at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, North Dakota.
