Roberta “Bobbie” Bader was born on November 9, 1945, in Mandan, North Dakota to Edgar and Lentina Muhlhauser. She gained her angel’s wings on Sunday, April 26, 2026, at Altru Hospital in Devils Lake, North Dakota with her loving family by her side.
Bobbie was a free-spirited soul who lived life on her own terms. She was one of the kindest individuals you could ever meet and would truly give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. Her generous heart and caring nature touched the lives of many, and she was always the first to show up when someone needed help.
Bobbie received her education in Mandan, North Dakota, and went on to attend cosmetology school. Following her schooling, she took a job in Garrison, North Dakota, where she met the love of her life, Rodney Bader.
Together, Bobbie and Rodney built a life centered around family. They were blessed with four children: their oldest daughter, Jody Nelsen (Rob Nelsen); William “Bill” Bader (Michelle Bader); Brent Bader (Carmen Bader); and their youngest daughter, Heather Tarang, with her significant other, Thomas “TJ” Tarang.
Bobbie had many hobbies and professions throughout her life. She worked as a hairstylist and later went on to open a flower shop in Max, North Dakota. Bobbie’s passion for her creative hobbies was especially evident in the countless hours she spent making wreaths, a craft she truly loved and took great pride in. She also loved spending countless hours outdoors gardening and tending to her flower beds, where she found peace and joy in caring for her plants and creating beauty around her home.
The previous four years of her life, Bobbie resided in Bismarck, North Dakota, with her youngest daughter Heather. After the passing of her husband in October of 2023, she moved to Devils Lake, North Dakota, in January 2025 for more extensive elder care. Bobbie moved there as her family knew she would receive exceptional care, especially with her oldest daughter Jody working at the facility.
Bobbie will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched throughout her lifetime. She impacted many with her kindness, generosity, and loving spirit. Bobbie is now free from all pain and suffering and will be remembered forever in the hearts of her family and friends.
She is survived by her four children, seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, at 2:00 p.m. following the service and fellowship.
