Robyn Lynn Schafer, 71, of Bismarck, ND, passed away peacefully at home on August 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM, Friday August 29, 2025, at St. Anne Catholic Church, 1321 Braman Ave, Bismarck.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 6:30PM, Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E Divide Ave, Bismarck. A rosary/vigil service will begin at 6:30PM.
Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
She was born on March 29, 1954, in Bismarck, ND to Russell and Eunice Sabot. Robyn began her education in Baldwin, ND, attending a small one-room country schoolhouse, a loved experience she talked about often. She later graduated from Bismarck High School, after graduation attended Bismarck State College.
She brought into this world her only daughter, Andrea, during her first marriage, and cherished her deeply throughout her life. On March 23, 1990, Robyn married, N. Mike Schafer. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, and adventure.
Robyn spent 31 years working for MDU Resources, retiring in 2012. Her heart was always most alive when she was creating and connecting with others. She had a passion for painting rocks, crocheting, casinos and traveling—finding joy especially in visits to San Antonio, Duluth North Shore and Philadelphia.
She is survived by her husband, Mike Schafer; daughter, Andrea (Jeremy) Feldman, stepdaughters, Becky Askerlund and Heather (Trey) Bemis; grandchildren, Tayler Feldman, Adam (Summer) Feldman; sisters, Renee (Steve) Walery, Deb (Rick) Matzke, and Cheryl (John) Bechtle; dear friend and walking companion, Nikki Ferderer; many nephews, nieces and family members.
Robyn was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Eunice Sabot; her stepson, Brent Schafer.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her. Robyn’s legacy is one of love, creativity, and resilience. She leaves behind not only beautiful works of art in her crafts but also the lasting imprint of her gentle spirit and unwavering kindness.
