Roland “Rollie” Wayne Schepp, 80, passed away on July 14, 2025, at Edgewood in Mandan, ND.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 19, 2025, at House of Prayer Lutheran Church, 1470 S Washington St., Bismarck, ND.

Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 5-7:00 PM with a prayer service starting at 7:00 PM.

Rollie was born on August 11, 1944, in Rugby, ND, to Albert and Emma (Ammon) Schepp. Rollie was raised on the family farm in Bantry, ND, alongside his five siblings until the family relocated to Maxbass just before he began his education.

Rollie attended school in Maxbass, graduating from Maxbass High School in 1962. He then pursued a degree at the School of Forestry in Bottineau, graduating in 1964. On June 16, 1964, he married Julie Engg and they welcomed five children; Kevin, Wayne, Michael, Stephanie and Darin.

His career spanned over three decades as an Elevator Manager for Cargill, with assignments in Scotland, SD, Aberdeen, SD, Minot, ND, and Dickinson, ND. In 2002, he and Julie moved to Bismarck, where he started his own general contracting business, working alongside his longtime friend Dale Nygaard, until retiring in 2016.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Rollie enjoyed many hobbies, including woodworking, fishing, gardening, and making lefse. He was known for his devotion to family and cherished moments spent with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren at the annual Grandma & Grandpa Summer Camp at Lake Sakakawea, as well as warm winters in Arizona with Julie. Rollie cleared his calendar for annual fishing weekends with his brothers since 1982. He was an active member of the House of Prayer Lutheran Church, serving in various capacities, including several years as the council treasurer.

Rollie is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Julie; children, Kevin (Barb) Schepp, Wayne (Candace) Schepp, Michael Schepp (Colleen Swank), Stephanie (David) Neshem, and Darin; 11 grandchildren Taylor (Lori), Eric (Camille), Kia (Mason), Lukis, Courtney (Jairo), Shariah (Troy), Jacob (Hannah) , Justin, Andrew (Julene), Aaron (Meredith) and Aidan; great-grandchildren, Everett, Esther, Gordon, Louella, Breyton, Sophia, Dante & Graham; brothers, Duane (Anna) Schepp, David (Beverly) Schepp, sisters-in-law JoAnn Schepp and Vicky Schepp, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his parents; brothers, Harley and Ronald; sister, Elaine; brother-in-law, Gene Peterson; sister-in-law ,Glenda, and mother and father-in-law Elizabeth “Annie” and Justin Engg, along with brother-in-law Ricky Engg.

Honorary pallbearers will include all his beloved grandchildren.
