Ronald "Ron" James Jahraus, 83, died peacefully, September, 9, 2026, at home while on hospice, from complications of Parkinson's disease.

He was born July 4, 1943, in Antelope, North Dakota, to Ruben and Emma Jahraus. He was the 12th of 13 children--10 boys and 3 girls. His early years were spent living on the family farm and attending a country school. Later he moved to Hebron, North Dakota, and graduated from Hebron High School in 1961.

September 1, 1962, he married LaRue Hoffman in Hebron. They had 2 children. Perry was born in 1963 and Laurie was born in 1965. He and LaRue lived in North Dakota until 1990, when they moved to Phoenix, Arizona. LaRue died June 29, 1996, after a brief battle with cancer.

October 8, 1999, Ron married Joann Geffre. They made there home in Chandler, Arizona until 2013 when they moved to Prescott Valley, Arizona.

Ron's hobbies included woodworking, travelling, and fishing.

Ron converted to the Catholic faith in 2016, and became an active member of St. Germaine Catholic Church in Prescott Valley. He volunteered at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry and joined the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife Joann, daughter Laurie (Joe) Dorn, step-son Keith (Adrianne) Geffre, 5 grandchildren, and 3 greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 sister, 9 brothers, and his son Perry,

Ron's funeral Mass will be held at St. Germaine Catholic Church, 7997 E Dana Dr, Arizona, on September 18, 2026, the rosary starts at 12:30 pm, Mass at 1 pm, with a reception to follow at the church. Services will also be held in Bismarck, North Dakota, on September 25, 2026, 10:30 am, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 3117 E Century Ave, with luncheon to follow. Burial will be in The First Congregational United Cemetery in Hebron, North Dakota, at approximately 2pm, that afternoon.
