Royann Kennelly, 92, Bismarck, died November 5, 2017, at CHI St. Alexius Health, Bismarck. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, November 9, at Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, 519 Raymond St., Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm Wednesday, November 8, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a vigil/rosary service will begin at 6:30 pm. Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bismarck. Royann Kennelly, the daughter of Roy and Helen (Breen) Kennelly was born August 3, 1925, in Bismarck, ND. She was raised and educated in Bismarck, graduating in 1943 from Bismarck High School. After attending the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN, she worked for the North Dakota State Laboratories Department and later at the Diocese of Bismarck, retiring in 1985. While working for the Diocese, she served as secretary to three Bishops throughout her 32-year tenure. Royann was an active member of the Cathedral of the Holy Spirit, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, Friends of St. Vincent, St. Alexius Auxiliary, and volunteered at St. Alexius Medical Center for many years. She enjoyed reading, line dancing at the Senior Center, traveling and getting together with family and friends. A friend to all whom met her, Royann will be greatly missed by her sisters, Estelle Shirley, AZ, and Helene Peterson, CO; sister-in-law, Beverly Kennelly, ND; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, D. Breen Kennelly; one niece, Brigid Kennelly and one great-nephew, Brian Lucero.
