Russell Papke

Russell (Russ) John Papke, 65, Bismarck, ND passed away August 28, 2025. There will be no formal celebration of life, but the family asks that you leave your memories and stories about Russ in the guestbook on this page! 

Russ was born December 12, 1959, in Bismarck to Roy and Katie (Schlenker) Papke. He grew up in Wing, ND and graduated from Wing Public School.

Russ was an avid photographer. He captured memories for numerous families. As a big supporter of Hammer Down Trucking, Russ would do aerial shots of the fleet.

Russ had a big heart and helped everyone. No matter the task, Russ could always be counted on. Russ deeply loved his dog, Rivers. They were best friends.

Russ is survived by his sister, Sandy “Papke” Schell; half-brother, Jerry Papke; nephew, Tim Siirtola; and close friend, Jonnie Suess. He was preceded in death by his parents Roy and Katie Papke; brother, Steve Papke; and very special nephew, Mike Schell.

Russ leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that will continue to inspire all that knew him.

Burial will be held at Goodrich Cemetery in Goodrich, ND.
