Sandra “Sandy” Kraft, 69, of Bismarck passed away on March 16, 2023 unexpectedly related to a motor vehicle accident.
Visitation will be held 5:30-7:30 PM, Tuesday, March 21, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. A vigil/rosary service will begin at 7:30 PM.
Interment will be held at a later date at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.
Sandy was born January 13, 1954 to Mike and Magdelena (Schaner) Schantz in Bismarck, ND. She was raised and educated in the Mandan area, graduating from Mandan High School. She was united in marriage to Casper “Junior” Kraft in 1972. From this union came two boys, Scott and Steven Kraft.
Sandy earned her nursing assistant certification and dedicated many years caring for people at MedCenter HMR, Edgewood Vista and other memory care facilities. One of her greatest joys was spending time with her grandson, Carter.
To know Sandy was to know a purely good soul. When you were in her presence you felt comfortable and at ease. Her character was larger than life, she freely gave of herself and didn't apologize for who she was. She will be remembered fondly for her phone calls about nothing and her unique quirks. She loved doing crafts and making floral arrangements for many weddings. Sandy also enjoyed scrapbooking and solving sudoku puzzles.
Sandy is survived by her son, Steven Kraft; grandson, Carter Theurer; sisters, Linnie (Monte) Tausend, Judy (Kelly) Kopp, Pamela (Kevin) Eisele; brother, Jim (Patty) Schantz; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Scott Kraft; her husband, Junior Kraft who died on March 16, 2022; her parents, Mike and Magdelena Schantz; her brother, Kenny Schantz.
