Scott Jackman's Obituary

Scott Dallas Jackman was born to Dallas and Aldora “Ellie” Jackman on a warm summer day; July, 1960, in Fargo North Dakota. Scott was the oldest of 5 siblings, a role mixed with stubbornness, guidance, and the occasional mischief only a first born can pull off. He attended Bismarck High School where he lived up to his self-proclaimed rebellion. Following High School, Scott headed for more pleasant climate in California where he worked before he went to Missouri to attend Sanford Brown Business College for a period of time.

In 1991, Scott joined Tess Kruschel and her one-year-old daughter, Samantha in life. From the very beginning he stepped into a fatherly role with Samantha. Together, Scott and Tess had two more daughters; Lacey born in 1992 and the baby of the family, Georgia born in 1999. One thing is for certain; Scott made sure the girls’ childhood was nothing short of exciting and took any opportunity to show them they were loved no matter the circumstance.

Late in life, in 2011 Scott met the love of his life, Kim Tidball while also gaining a stepson, Cody. In 2014 Scott decided it was time to make Kim his wife. They united in Marriage on April 16th. Together they established roots in New Salem, North Dakota and naturally embraced a slower quieter pace in life, though ACDC could still be heard on max volume!

Scott lived life on his on terms, just the way he liked, with a knack for turning ordinary moments into memorable ones. Prior to parenthood, he poured his pride and joy into his legendary orange Road Runner. He was especially fond of blasting classic rock through any speaker and may have been known for a mostly harmless noise complaint or two. If the sun was shining and even when it wasn’t, many summers were spent escaping reality at the infamous desert where friends became more like family. Days were filled with fishing, laughs, chasing kids, and perhaps a couple other activities that shall go unmentioned. He always had a special place in his heart for animals. He was infamous for bringing a random pet home from time to time, even a parrot named Lawrence. If you knew Scott, you could predict what was probably on his mind and it was “what’s for supper”? He had a deep appreciation for food and curating the most delicious meals. He was happiest when sharing a meal with the ones he loves, and he and Kim’s Dachshund, Allie of course.

Scott took great pride in the home he and Kim created which provided them with the utmost solace until October 2024 when their home was tragically lost to a house fire. By the grace of God, Scott Kim and Allie made it out unharmed. This unfortunate event was yet a grand reminder of how precious and fragile life is. With not much more than each other and the love they shared, Scott and Kim picked back up and have since made Bismarck their home where Scott carried out his final moments and peacefully passed away at 4:44pm on March, 2026, after putting up a good fight with various medical conditions. He entered eternal life in the presence of his wife, children, and siblings.

His life was not defined by titles or fancy accolades but by the love he gave generously, the memories he was a cornerstone of, and the laughter he inspired. Scott enjoyed putting his hands to work and was often found deep in a home project. Jobs came and went but his true fulfillment came from living freely with joy and making memories no words can accurately capture; memories that will linger in the hearts of those who love him.

Scott was reunited with his father Dallas, his mother, Ellie, and stepfather, Les. Scott will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kim, son Cody, and Allie; Samantha, her husband Danny, and grandsons, Wilder and Bridger; Lacey, her boyfriend Tegan, and granddaughter Everleigh; Georgia, granddaughter Lennox and soon, grandson Onyx Scott; his siblings, their spouses; Mike and Sherry, Cheryl and Allen, Cindy and Dave, Becky and Rob along with his many nieces and nephews. “Goodnight, I love you very, very much”

A tribute of Scott’s life will be held on April 13th 2026 at 4:00pm at The Tumbleweed Bar & Grill 62 Santee Rd, Lincoln, ND. Scott’s family warmly invites you to come celebrate, share memories, and laughs as we remember him together.
