Shanahan “Shabby” Cynric Schneider, 50, passed away on December 10, 2023, from a heart attack in his home.

 A memorial service will be held at 10:30 AM, Friday, Dec. 15, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. The service will be live streamed through Parkway’s website. Family will begin greeting guests one hour prior to the service.

A gathering will be held at the Artic Room, 2124 E Thayer Ave, Bismarck, following the service.

Shanahan was born July 23, 1973, in Bismarck, ND, the son of Marcia Lang and Terry Schneider. He lived in the Bismarck/Mandan area his whole life.

He was married to Carrie on May 2, 2015. He was employed at the Falkrik Mine up in Underwood as a heavy machinery operator. He loved his job and his co-workers.

Shan enjoyed baking, grilling, wood working, camping, sitting in his sauna, and spending time with his friends and family. He spent many summers at the family lake cabin in Minnesota, where he enjoyed taking his hydro-stream boat out and pushing it to the limits.

His full personality and sense of humor brought joy to many and he almost always knew what to say. It was rare for Shabby to be without words.

Shan is survived by his wife, Carrie; daughters, Malaya (Zack) and Cieana (Kolten); brothers, Brandon and Cortney (Kyla); grandchildren, RayGin, MavRic, RoaWin, and Westin; his parents, Marcia (Dennis) and Terry; his in-laws, Rita and Randy; and his grandmother, Emmy; along with many more aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandpa Herman; his grandparents, Joseph and Vera; his aunts, Diane, Helen and Bonnie and his uncles, Ron, and Joel.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that a tree be planted in his memorial through the Parkway Funeral Service website.
