Sharon Landsiedel

Sharon “Babe” Lee Landsiedel, 81, Bismarck, formerly of McCLusky, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at St. Gabriel’s, Bismarck.

Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm on Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Turtle Lake Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Turtle Lake City Cemetery.

Sharon Lee was born on September 2, 1941, northeast of Washburn, ND in McLean County to Bennie and Ruth (Brenneise) Miller.  She attended Turtle Lake Public School, graduating in 1960.  In 1961, she married Larry Landsiedel in Turtle Lake.  Larry’s work, took them to Montana for a brief time, before they returned to North Dakota, first residing in Fessenden before settling and raising their family in McClusky. Sharon worked a few odd jobs here and there and was a long-time bookkeeper for Larry’s Garage. 

Babe took pride in being a homemaker the most, raising and providing for her kids. She enjoyed gardening and canning her harvest, baking, quilting, sewing, doing ceramics and never passed up stopping at a garage sale. The Food Co-Op in McClusky was a place she spent a lot of time volunteering. 

In 1990, Sharon moved to Mandan, to be closer to health care after she had a stroke. She was a member of First American Lutheran Church, Mandan.

Sharon was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by her family and many good friends.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Kerry Landsiedel, Regan, ND; daughters, Jenny Bloom, Baldwin, ND and June Jorgenson, Mandan, ND; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother and sisters-in-law, Douglas and Sue Miller, Betty Miller and Karen Miller; sister, Maxine Birst and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Daryl Jorgenson; brothers, Gerald Miller and Duane Miller; brother-in-law, Dennis Birst and sister and brother-in-law, Ardella and Cleo Landsiedel.
