Sharon G. Brennise

May 12, 1943 — May 18, 2025

With deep sadness, we announce the passing of Sharon Gail (Lilke) Brennise, 82, of Lincoln, ND, who passed away on Sunday, May 18th surrounded by family.

Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, May 30th, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Sharon was born in Neche, ND on May 12, 1943, to John & Anne (Gurke) Lilke. The family moved to Redfield, SD where she attended Elementary School. They then moved to Bismarck, ND and she graduated from Bismarck High School in 1961. Gary and Sharon were married in 1961 and had a son, Bret Jon.

Through the years, Sharon was personnel manager at Montgomery Ward for 17 years. She also worked for Mental Health America for 10 years and was the director of their ND 211 information, referral, and crisis center.

Gary and Sharon were involved with many car club functions and enjoyed a vacation to Seattle, Washington in their Mercury convertible before Gary passed away in 2004. Sharon was diagnosed with Myasthenia Gravis in 2007. The disease caused her to have to make some changes but only made her appreciation for sharing life with the people she loved, stronger. Sharon was an avid reader of books, loved to go shopping, enjoyed going to rummage sales especially in September with her sister Jerry and niece Nan. She always looked forward to making plans with family and friends including the Birthday Club gatherings of 58 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her Son & Daughter-In-Law, Bret and Michelle Brennise; two Grandchildren, Breshelle and Christopher Brennise; first Great-Grandchild, Cooper; Sister, Jerry Boyd; Sister-In-Law, Gayle (Mark) Schmidt; Brother-In-Law, Rick Brennise; as well as nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and close friends that were very dear to her heart. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gary; two Grandchildren; one Great-Grandchild and a Brother, Dennis Lilke.
