Sophia (Roemmich) Weishaar, 93, Bismarck, passed into the Lord’s care on October 29, 2017. Sophia, formerly of Glen Ullin, was residing at the Baptist Care Center due to declining health. Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, November 1, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with Rev. Merle Hoots officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 31, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck. Sophia was born August 27, 1924, to Ludwig and Christina (Wetzel) Roemmich. She was raised and educated around the Glen Ullin area where she attended country school. Sophia married Alvin Weishaar on June 15, 1947. The couple farmed 11 miles south of Glen Ullin for 40 plus years, retiring to Mandan in 1991. Sophia is survived by two sons, Larry (Pam) and Ron; four grandsons, Jerry (Chris), Curtis, Scot (Tina), and Chad (Jennifer); and great-grandchildren, John, Steven, Zack, Jayda, and Finnley. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin; her parents; sisters, Elizabeth and Wilhelamina; and her brothers, Albert and Edmund.
