Steve was raised and educated in Argyle, MN, where he attended Argyle High School, graduating with the class of 1973. During his high school years, fate brought him together with a charming girl named Priscilla Armstrong, whom he would later marry. After pursuing his passion for mechanics, Steve attended Northland Community and Technical College and became a skilled mechanic.

In 1976, Steve and Priscilla exchanged vows and embarked on their journey as husband and wife. They were blessed with two sons, Scott and Jason, who brought immense joy to their lives. Steve's dedication to his family was evident in both his personal and professional life.

Steve's career led him to Bismarck, ND, where he secured a position at Eide Ford. Unfortunately, a work-related injury forced Steve into an early retirement. Despite this setback, he embraced the opportunity to spend more time with his son Jason.

Steve was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Steve was a lifetime member of ABATE and also a founding member of the Our Place Motorcycle Club (OPMC). This group came about from a group of friends that camped together when the kids were little and their friendships and interests stayed strong throughout the years, which included riding motorcycles. Steve's affinity for riding his cherished Harley Davidson motorcycle was matched only by the joy he experienced when Priscilla rode alongside him.

Steve enjoyed competing in dart and pool leagues and had a friendly competitive spirit. He valued relationships deeply and cherished the friendships he formed throughout his life.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife, Priscilla Deschene, and their sons, Jason Deschene and Scott Deschene (Sara), all residing in Bismarck, ND. He will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Rebecca Thull, Kaige Deschene, and Kameron Deschene, as well as his great-grandson, Arne Thull. Steve is also survived by his parents, Richard and Lorraine Deschene of Argyle, MN, and his sister, Bev Lunde (Roy) of Thief River Falls, MN.
