Steve J. Bertsch, 74, Lincoln, passed away on January 10, 2020. A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, January 16, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 15, at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m.

Burial will be held at the ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

Steve was born on March 31, 1945 in Bowdon, ND, to Ella and Robert Bertsch. Steve grew up and graduated high school in Robinson, ND. In 1963 Steve enlisted in the Army, bravely serving his country in the Vietnam War.

Throughout his life, Steve wore many hats. He was a Railway Detective, worked in law enforcement, photography, and his favorite career as a school bus driver.

Steve is survived by his beloved wife and soulmate, Sheree; five children, Steven, Mandan, ND; Laura (Adam) Setlich, Imperial, MO; Chris (Michelle), Lincoln, ND; Jessica (Nathan) Ziegler, Williston, ND; and Brent Goll (Tiffanei Diggs), Bismarck, ND; sister, Jean (Fred) Rusch; and brother, Robert Bertsch, Bismarck, ND. Steve boasted daily about his seven grandchildren, Keegan, Avery, Andrew, Matt, Monica, Brooklyn, and Cilas. He will be missed by his three-"pound puppies", Tobi, Oakley, and Murphy.
