Susan Kay Rifenburgh, 69, of Bismarck, North Dakota, peacefully entered the gates of Heaven on August 8, 2026, surrounded by the love of those whose lives she touched so deeply.

A Memorial Service will start at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, August 19, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 3117 E Century Ave.

Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., on Tuesday, August 18, at Eastgate Funeral Service.

Susan was born at Carswell Air Force Base in Fort Worth, Texas, to Robert Bruce Rifenburgh and Joan Rifenburgh, both of whom preceded her in death. Throughout her life, she embodied kindness, generosity, and unconditional love. She had a heart of gold and never hesitated to help someone in need. If she had something to give, she gave it freely, and she never wanted anyone to go without. Her warmth, compassion, and selflessness left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Susan shared her life with her devoted life partner, Paul Mueller. She was a dedicated employee of P&B Transportation, Inc., where she worked faithfully for many years.

Her greatest joy was bringing people together. Susan loved to cook and was happiest when her home was filled with family, friends, laughter, and the delicious meals she lovingly prepared. Whether it was a holiday gathering, birthday celebration, or a simple family get-together, she made every occasion feel special. She also enjoyed shopping and crafting, and she had a special place in her heart for dogs. She adored her own dogs, but truthfully, she never met a dog she didn't love.

Above all else, Susan cherished her family. Her three children were Crystal Adkins and her husband, Michael; Robert Brueggemann; and Alicia Brueggemann.

She was a proud and loving grandmother to Savanah Caddell and her husband, Jonah; Christian Powell and her husband, Brody; John Adkins and his wife, Erin; Billy Harwood; and Morgan Harwood.

Susan's greatest treasures were her great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. She adored every moment spent with Jackson Caddell, Isaiah Caddell, Emmalyn Powell, Adeline Powell, Samuel Adkins.Elena and Dean Harwood. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with them, watching them grow, spoiling them whenever she could, and creating memories they will carry with them forever.

She also survived by her loving brothers, Randy Rifenburgh and his wife, Melinda, and Roy Rifenburgh and his wife, Donna, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Susan's legacy is one of love, generosity, and family. She taught those around her that the simplest acts of kindness could make the biggest difference. Her home was always open, her table always had room for one more, and her heart had enough love for everyone. She had a remarkable gift for making people feel welcome, cared for, and loved.

Though our hearts are broken by her passing, we find comfort in knowing she is now at peace in Heaven. Her love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family will continue to live on through the lives she touched. While she may no longer be with us in person, her spirit will forever remain in our hearts and in the countless memories she created.

She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
