Sylvia was born on October 30, 1933, at Pierre, South Dakota to Edward and Viola Schuler. She spent her young life in Creighton, S.D. helping on the farm, working at Wall Drug Store, and even helping their neighbors when they had triplets. She loved music and played piano and accordion for gatherings with friends.
She married Wilhelm “Bill” Eisenbraun on June 4, 1954. Bill & Sylvia moved to Bismarck in 1958 after Bill had completed his Army service and graduated from the School of Mines in SD.
Sylvia was a homemaker at heart. She loved cooking, baking and cake decorating. You never left their house hungry, and often took home a “goodie bag”. She was an avid gardener and spent many hours with her roses & flowers, fruits & vegetables, canning everything from jelly to applesauce to salsa. She enjoyed many handicrafts like sewing, quilting, crocheting, ceramics, and paper crafts. Friends and family have received treasured handmade gifts from her. Sylvia enjoyed camping and fishing with Bill and her family. She loved her family and friends and was always happy to lend a helping hand or babysit.
Sylvia and Bill were very active in the church. Sylvia served as a Sunday School and VBS teacher, participated in LWML & Serving Seniors, and spent many hours quilting with the church ladies.
When Bill suffered a stroke in 2021, she was heartbroken to leave their home on Shady Lane and at that time her dementia became apparent. She was happy to be able to help Bill with his physical limitations following his stroke. They depended on each other for over 70 years.
Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband Wilhelm “Bill”, her parents; her brothers , Laverne “Sonny” and Marlyn; and her son, Corey.
She will be lovingly missed by her daughter, Crystal (Murray) Lawrance; son, Calvin (Tina); daughter-in-law, Carmen (Corey); sisters Gladys Wilburn, Marilyn Drewitz, and Jeanette (Larry) Miller and sister-in-laws Janice Schuler (Marlyn) and LuErna Sawyer; eight grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren and well as her many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at St. Alexius Health Center and the staff in Memory Care at Edgewood in Mandan for their compassionate care of Sylvia.
