Obituary

Terry Dean Ohlhauser, 60, passed away on October 30, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved him dearly and countless memories that will be cherished for a lifetime.

A Celebration of Life will start at 11 a.m., on Thursday, November 5, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 3117 E Century Ave, with a visitation being held one hour prior to the service.

Terry was born in Bismarck, ND. At the age of six, he moved with his family to Minnesota, where he lived until age thirteen before returning to North Dakota, graduating from Century High School in 1984.

Terry was a man who dreamed big and worked even harder to turn those dreams into reality. Known for being incredibly hardworking, determined, and perhaps a little stubborn, he had a way of making things happen. If he had an idea, he was going to find a way to bring it to life. As a proud owner of his own well-known drywall company, Terry built a reputation through years of hard work, dedication, and determination. He was a man who would do anything for anyone—never hesitating to lend a helping hand to those around him.

Terry had a deep love for the outdoors and found some of his greatest happiness surrounded by nature. Whether he was tending to his trees or garden, riding his tractor, or just simply enjoying being outside, it’s where he felt most at home. He took pride in the things he built, the dreams he pursued, and the life he created. One of his latest dreams was a greenhouse—another project he was excited to bring to life. And of course, Terry wouldn’t quite have been Terry without his beanie—one of those little things that will bring a smile to the faces of those who knew him.

Some of Terry’s greatest joy came from being “Papa” and “Grandpa” to Rory and Wells. He loved those boys fiercely, and their love for him was just as big. They shared a special bond that will forever be a part of their story.

Above all, Terry leaves behind a family who will miss him more than words can express. He is survived by his wife, Kristi; his son, Kale (Taylor); his beloved grandsons, Rory and Wells; and his daughter, Jessie (Braden), who are eagerly awaiting the arrival of his new granddaughter. He is also survived by his mother, Annette; his brother Steve; and many nieces and nephews. He will also be remembered by extended family and many friends whose lives he touched along the way.

Terry’s legacy lives on in the business he built, the things he built, the dreams he made reality, the people he helped, and the family who will carry his stories forward. His stubbornness, his love for the outdoors, and all the little things that made him who he was will never be forgotten. May the boys always remember their Papa when they see a tractor, work in a garden, or look at the trees growing around them.

He may no longer be here to ride his tractor, tend to his trees, or dream up his next big project, but the things he planted, built, and dreamed of will continue to grow long after him.
