Thomas "Tom" Cooper, 76, of Bismarck, passed away on April 19th, 2026, after a long battle with lung disease. Cremation has taken place in Bismarck, and burial will be in the town of Regan, North Dakota, at the Regan Cemetery beside his wife, on Monday, April 27th at 11:00 AM.
Tom was born January 12, 1950, in Billings, MT to J.D. "Dan" and Nona Cooper. He worked and retired from Motorola Communications & Electronic. After retiring, he started his own custom furniture business, Prairie Ridge Woodworks, in Kalispell, Montana. In 2002, Tom sold the business, and he and his wife, Kim, then traveled full-time in an RV, work-camping at many campgrounds across the United States. In 2007, they settled down and moved back to North Dakota.
Tom is survived by his sister, Laurie Cooper Smith of Sparks, NV, and stepson Cory Mowder and his wife Laura from Bozeman, MT, as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his wife, Kathleen "Kim" Cooper (33 years); his first wife Patti Cooper (16 years); his parents, Dan and Nona Cooper; his sister, Virginia Brix of Seattle, WA.
