Tomas was born on September 26, 1957, to Elling and Betty (Hystad) Lindseth. He was raised and educated in Velva, North Dakota and graduated from Velva High School. He was very involved in Boy Scouts and earned his Eagle Scout.
The Lindseth family had a cabin at Strawberry Lake where Tom’s love for the water and being in the sunshine grew. He loved to spend time in the boat and learned to barefoot water ski. Following graduation Tom worked a few different construction jobs. He went to work at the Dakota Gasification Plant in Beulah in 1983 as a welder until retiring in 2007
In January 1983, he married Julie Plorin. They lived in Velva before moving to Hazen where they welcomed two daughters, Nicole and Annie, who were his pride and joy.
He shared his love for the outdoors with his family as they went on many camping trips, hitting their favorite spots at Hazen Bay and Pick City. He shared his love of boating with friends and family, with his yellow speedboat, whipping around the lake. Tom had many hobbies and things he enjoyed throughout his years. His favorite though was not taking life too seriously, being a free spirit and entertaining everyone with his sense of humor and always being the life of the party. In Tom’s words, “Mellow Out” was a way of life, not just a saying.
Throughout his life, Tomas was celebrated for his heart of gold, always willing to lend a helping hand and offer kindness to all those he encountered. His infectious love for life brought joy to those around him, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he met.
