Valentine Vetter, 91, Bismarck, died on January 21, 2024 at St. Vincent's Care Center.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM, Monday, January, 29 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 1919 N 2nd St, Bismarck.
Visitation will be held from 1:00PM to 3:00PM, with a rosary/vigil service starting at 3:00PM, Sunday, January 28 at Eastgate Funeral Service, 2302 E. Divide Ave.
Interment will be at 1:00PM, Monday, January, 29 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Valentine was born on August 4, 1932 in Linton ND to John and Margaret (Bosch) Vetter.
He attended rural schools in Emmons County, southeast of Linton, ND. Valentine was drafted into the Army from 1953-1955, serving 17 months during the Korean War.
In 1955, he married Isabella Vetter. They lived in Bismarck, ND most of their married life while he worked in construction as a cement finisher. Valentine was a life member of the VFW as well as a longtime member of the Moose and Legion clubs.
He is survived by children, Clarence (Beth) Vetter, East Grand Forks, Minn., Marlene (Tom) Janzer, Mandan, and Marvin Vetter, Bismarck; son-in-law, Leroy Siverson, Rhame; seven grandchildren, Christina Flippance, Fargo, Cinnamon (Patrick Stewart) Janzer, Minneapolis, Minn., Steven (Nicole) Siverson, Rhame, Mandi Tipton, Mandan, Paige (Nick) Korynta, East Grand Forks, Minn., Phillip Vetter, East Grand Forks, Minn., and Grace Vetter, East Grand Forks, Minn.; four great-grandchildren, Adeline Flippance, Lincoln Tipton, Letty Siverson and Kali Siverson; brother, George (Levina) Vetter and sisters, Benadina Wald and his twin, Tillie Johs.
Valentine was preceded in death by his wife, Isabella; daughter, Pat Siverson; sisters, Barbara (Blase) Mathern, Mary (Joe) Bosch; brother, John (Helen) Vetter and brothers in-law Tom Wald and Joe Johs.
