Vera “Babadoo” Monroe, 39, died August 28, 2018, at Sanford Health, Bismarck. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday September 4, 2018 at Church of St. Mary’s, 806 E Broadway Ave, Bismarck. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 7:00 pm on Monday September 3rd, 2018 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, where a rosary/vigil service will begin at 7:00 pm. Vera Ann Dubois Monroe was born Devils Lake, North Dakota to Maureen Halsey, and Justin Dubois on February 10, 1979.  She was raised by her mother and Step-Father, Perry Halsey who loved her very much.  Vera went to school in Bismarck, North Dakota and graduated from JZ Trend Academy. She loved spending quality time with family, hanging out with friends, and going to the casino! When Vera was young, she was accepted into a beauty pageant in Dallas, TX. She is survived by her husband, Anthony R. Monroe; sons, RaiQuan and Tyrese Monroe; daughter, Amani Monroe; mother, Maureen (Perry) Halsey, Bismarck; father, Justin DuBois, Devils Lake; sisters, Kara Halsey and Justine DuBois; brother, Wayden DuBois, special aunts, Pansy Johnson, Suzie Abraham Rainbow; her uncles, Kirk, Henry II, and Wendell Johnson; God Mother, Francis Halsey, God Children, Cedar Rain Cain Dubois, and Peter Lancaster. Also her special nieces, Jayden and Ryleigh Beheler. Vera Ann Monroe is preceded in death by her brother Wendelin Dubois, cousin Michael Chappelle, Aunt Selma Johnson, Aunt Adele Johnson, Aunt Eleanor Chappell, Grandmother Shirley Johnson, and her  Grandfather Henry Johnson.
