Vernon Kindseth was born June 29, 1930, on a farm near Waubun, MN, to Oscar and Myrtle (Olson) Kindseth. He graduated from High School in 1948. He was involved in High School Athletics, lettering in football, basketball, and track.
Vernon is a US Navy Veteran, Active Duty, and US Navy Reserve with assignments in California, Korea, and Japan. He served aboard the USS George Clymer, (APA-27). The USS George Clymer received five battle stars for World War II service, seven for the Korean War, and three for the Vietnam War. After his Honorable Discharge from the US Navy, he attended Interstate Business College and Moorhead State College.
Vernon married Florence Pederson on Sept. 6, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church in Twin Valley, MN. Their family was blessed with Anita, Karen, Lonnie, and Lamont.
In his professional career, Vernon worked in Sales and staff management for John Deere and Co. in Kentucky, Ohio and North Dakota.
Bismarck North Dakota was the beginning of the John Deere Industrial Equipment Dealership which thrived under his leadership and direction; and expanded ownership to Minot, Grand Forks, and Fargo. This career choice has proven itself to be exceptionally satisfying serving North Dakota with large construction equipment.
His life of service and commitment to family and community was shared with the ELCA Lutheran Church, and his dedication to goals, challenge, focus, purpose, and the satisfaction of accomplishment, professionally not only for himself but family, co-workers, and job. He was a man who shared the joy of a job well done. Building, designing, creating... with the team and his family brought big smiles.
His memory is survived by his wife and children: Anita & Brian Knutson, Karen & Dale Maus, Lonnie & Dianna Kindseth, and Lamont and Belinda Kindseth; grandchildren: Lynn & Jason Hoffman, Lisa & Dustin Redman, Nathan Maus, Alexander & Josephine Maus, Jason & Elizabeth Kindseth, Taylor & Jessica Kindseth, Leslie & Drew Reisenauer, and (certainly... ) the nine GREAT grand children; and brother, Douglas & Louise Kindseth. The Family is large and loved.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Missouri Slope for the care and compassion they showed Vernon and family.
Memorials may be given to the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery or Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
