Vonnie Jean (Nicholson) Weisz, 82, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2026.

A Memorial Service will start at 11 a.m., on Friday, October 9, at Eastgate Funeral Service, 3117 E Century Ave, with a visitation being held one hour prior to the service.

Burial will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery.

Born June 13, 1944, to Robert “Art” and Carol (Nelson) Nicholson Bismarck, ND. She was the only daughter and the oldest of eight children.

Graduated from Hazelton High School.

She married John Weisz on August 20, 1965, and together they raised two daughters, Carol and Shelly.

She worked with her husband on the family farm near Hazelton. They farmed, ranched and ran a butcher shop.

Vonnie was a member of the Hazelton Legion Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughters: Carol (Bruce) Thompson and Shelly Weisz, Bismarck. Brothers: Bill, Bernie (Gale) Nicholson, Moffit. In-laws: Darnell Nicholson of Sterling ND, Helen (Vernal) Christensen of Sioux Falls SD, Albert Marquart of Bismarck and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by: Husband, John; parents, Art and Carol Nicholson, brothers, Ronald, Tim, Lyle, Tom and Leland; In-laws: Jack and Marianne Weisz, Mary Buckley, Francis Kessel, Johanna White and Ruby Marquart.
