Wade Anderson

June 9, 1942 — August 3, 2025

McKenzie

Wade Lee Anderson, 83, McKenzie, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family August 3, 2025. A devoted husband, proud father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend, Wade lived a full life rooted in what he cared about most: family, close friends, the community, being active, and the farm and ranch he worked his entire life.

Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 7 at First Presbyterian Church, 214 E Thayer Ave, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. A prayer service will begin at 7 p.m.

Burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens, Bismarck.

Wade was born to William and Alice (Carlson). He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Marjorie (Small), with whom he built a family and life filled with lasting memories. Together they raised three children: Lee (Tammy), Cindy (Will), and Shelly (David). He was proudly known as “OMA – Old Man Anderson” by his sons-in-law. He was affectionately known as “Bunka” by his five grandchildren: McKenzie and Matt Meeks; Justin, Makayla, and Carter Anderson – whom he adored with all his heart.

Wade was a trusted brother, cousin, brother-in-law, and neighbor whose work ethic and values in action left a mark on everyone who knew him. A respected rancher and farmer, Wade was also active off the field - you could find him summer nights on a softball diamond, playing basketball at the Moffitt Hall in the winter, watching sports– still rooting for the Vikings, hunting and fishing – across North Dakota and from Montana to Hawaii, and playing cards until the wee hours with neighbors and family alike. Whether working the land, enjoying the 19th hole with his golf buddies, cheering kids and grandkids from the sidelines, or serving on community boards, Wade’s presence, wisdom, quick wit and dry humor, and quiet strength will be deeply missed but forever remembered.
