Wayden "Gramps" DuBois, 44, passed away Monday, September 1, 2025, at Saint Vincent's in Bismarck.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Parkway Funeral Home, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, ND. Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm Wednesday September 10, 2025 at Parkway Funeral Home.
Wayden Lee DuBois was born in Devils Lake, North Dakota, to Maureen Halsey and Justin DuBois on February 4, 1981. He was raised by his mother and stepfather, Perry Halsey. Wayden attended school at Northridge up to 6th grade. During his fourth-grade year, Wayden broke the record for running the fastest mile, with a time of four minutes and thirty seconds. He attended Simile Middle School and then went on to Century High School. He was an outstanding basketball player. While traveling for basketball, he played for team Westcon, which won many games around North Dakota. Wayden loved to play basketball, horseshoes, and work on his car, installing stereo systems, listening to music, fishing, working out, and doing arts and crafts. Wade was a very kind, giving person; he would always offer you food or something to drink. His love for helping others was a testament to his kindness and generosity. Wade had a huge heart and loved family gatherings. Wade enjoyed watching his favorite movies, Road House, 8 Seconds, La Bamba, The Goonies, and Big Bang Theory. He loved to eat Frybread, Big Macs, and homemade food.
Wayden is survived by his mother, Maureen, and stepfather, Perry Halsey of Bismarck, his children, Wendelin DuBois, Cedar Cain, and LeeRae Hale. Sisters: Kara Halsey and Justine DuBois, special aunts Pansy Johnson, Suzie Abraham Rainbow, Frances Halsey, special uncles: Wendell Johnson, Terrance Halsey, Raymond DuBois, Richard DuBois, and many close cousins. Wade was very close to his niece, Ryleigh Ann Beheler, and Jadyn Jean Beheler. Wade and Ryleigh would watch TV and munch out all day long. She was his little buddy.
Wayden Lee DuBois is preceded in death by his sister, Vera Monroe, and his brother, Wendelin DuBios; his grandmother, Shirley Johnson; his grandfather, Henry Johnson; and his grandmother, Alice DuBios.
