Wayne Bentz

Wayne Alen Bentz, of Mandan, ND, passed away unexpectedly on April 22, 2023.

Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 PM, Monday, May 1, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Cremation has taken place.

Wayne was born on March 28, 1967, in Elgin, ND, to Ervin and Eleanor (Koepplin) Bentz. He graduated from Elgin High School in 1985 and followed in his dad’s footsteps by graduating from lineman school. He was employed by Seaward Construction, Mor-Gran-Sou, and Basin Electric from where he recently retired.

Wayne was a great father and best friend to his only son, Britain. He was an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish and he also enjoyed collecting and working on guns. He loved to spend time with his family and friends by playing cards, shaking dice and going to concerts.

He is survived by his son, Britain (Ranee) Bentz, Britain’s mom, Tana (Jim) Lobeck; his parents, Ervin and Eleanor Bentz; siblings, Linda (Dave) Schmitz, Rick Bentz (special friend, Jean Jasper), Brenda Bentz, Chris (Missy) Bentz; nephews and niece, Brandon (Junko) Schmitz, Brayden Traxel, and Kimberly (Brett) Gietzen; and great-nephew and nieces, Jensen and Natalie Gietzen and Sophia Schmitz.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Lenora Bentz and Louie and Marie Koepplin.
