Wesley Dean Vietz, 64, of Mandan, ND passed away with family by his side on May, 19, 2025.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, May 23, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck. Family will greet guests one hour prior to the service.
Wes was born on May 14, 1961, in Omaha, Nebraska, to Violet (Williams) and Delmar Vietz. He graduated from Kimball High School in 1979 and went on to earn his certification in plumbing.
In 1980, Wes married Connie Shandera. Though they later went their separate ways, they shared the joy of raising two children, Joshua and Kayla. Later in life, Wes found lasting companionship with Bonnie Kuntz, and the two had been together since 2006.
Wes built a strong career in plumbing, spending 15 years with Specht Plumbing. He also worked for companies such as H.A. Thompson & Sons, and United Association as a union employee. He was a proud member of the Local 303, where his work ethic and commitment to his trade earned him the respect of colleagues and peers.
Wes is survived by his fiancée, Bonnie Kuntz; his children, Joshua (Chris) Vietz, and Kayla Vietz; Bonnie’s children, Jacob (Shannon) Willer, and Amanda (Jason) Lantz; grandchildren, Aiden and Kamden Vietz, Evan and Rex, Annabel and Jameson Willer, and Evelyn Lantz; sisters, Twila (Jim) Minnick and Melanie Ihde; and his beloved furry companion, Honeymae.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Valerie Dietel; brother in-law, Gary Ihde; and furry companion Lilly Mae.
