William "Bill" Fritz, 94, of Bismarck, passed away on August 21, 2026.

He was born on May 24, 1932, in Bismarck, N.D., Bill was the son of Lydia (Pfeifle) Fritz.

He attended Bismarck High School before serving four years in the United States Air Force, stationed in Japan during the Korean War. Following his service, he earned as associates degree from Bismarck State College. Bill began his professional career in life insurance at Provident Life, where he met his future wife of 68 years, Donna Karch. After two decades in the industry, he founded Fritz Financial SVS, serving his clients faithfully until the final stages of his life.

Bill was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and a lifelong member of both the Capital City Lions and the Elks. His commitment to service and fellowship shaped much of his life.

He loved the outdoors. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, and his time spent at Blue Lake, N.D. and Kid Lake, Minn. with family. The sun filled his spirit till the end of his life.

Bill is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Tamie Fritz, Charles (Sara), and Bethany Lorbiecki (Matt); grandchildren, Patrick (Yoli), Savannah (Nick), Nicole, India (Levi), and Jack; great grandchildren, Addie, Summer, Leona, Lorraine, Luna, and two future great grandsons expected this December.

He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

A private family service will be held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan at a later date.
