William Mark Pulley, 84, of Bismarck, ND and formally of Grand Forks, ND passed away on June 3rd 2023, in his home, with family at his side.
A celebration of life will be at 11:00 am on Monday, June 12 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck, with visitation starting one hour prior to the service.
Burial will take place on Monday at 1:00 pm at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
William or “Bill” as commonly known, was born in Pulaski Township, WI, on April 25Th, 1939, son of the late Donald, and Magdalene Pulley. He went to school in the area and received his GED while he was in the U.S Air Force. He had enlisted as soon as he was able. The Air Force sent him to Vietnam to help defend our country. He then spent the rest of his tour at various air force bases, working in POL (petroleum, oils, and lubricants). He retired in 1977 from Minot Air Force Base in North Dakota. Soon after, he met and married his wife of 43 years, Katie on August 25th, 1979. A few years later, he took a civil service job as a Quality Surveillance Representative (QSR) in Grand Force at the Defense Fuel Supply Center. He excelled in the position, winning many awards and certificates. One of his biggest honors was servicing the jet fuel on Air Force I for the president of the United States. Bill has been a lifetime member of The Masonic Lodge, AM Vets, and The American Legion. He was also a volunteer fireman for the Wilton Fire Department.
After his second retirement, Bill and Katie travelled for a few years in their 5th wheel camper. They loved visiting old friends and family across the states. When they stopped traveling, they settled in Wilton, ND then soon after Bismack, ND. Gardening and canning were his pleasures and he would never turn down the chance to fish the day away.
He is also survived by his children, William (Lana) Pulley II, Sherie (Terry) Pulley-Nichols, and Jeff (Jennifer) Pulley, and his step daughter, Tricia Winter. He also has five half-brothers, Ken Rowin, Robert Rowin, Ralph Rowin, Jerry Rowin and Walter Rowin; 11 grandchildren, Benjamin Beck, Thomas Stickel Jr, Candice Palm, Jared Pulley, Jacob Pulley, Taylen Pulley, Leah Pulley, Joshua Clayton, Hayley Winter, and Anna Pulley-Nicholls; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Lacey, Deacon, Sipsey, Emmelee Rose, Stella, Wheeler, Carmen, Nash, Emmerson, Ryanna, Leila, and Natalie
He was proceeded in death by his parents Donald and Magdeline Pulley. His step-father Kenneth Rowin, sister Barb Klebesadel, half-brother Roger Rowin, daughter Linda Beck, grandson Artie Beck Jr, and step-son Billy Winter.
