Obituary

William “Will” Jacob Bohrer was welcomed into the arms of his savior, Jesus Christ, on March 1, 2026, in Bismarck, ND.

Will was born on August 28, 1981, in Minot, North Dakota, to Doug and Cheryl Bohrer. He spent his early childhood in Colorado before moving with his family to California, where he graduated from Laguna Hills High School in 2000. He worked with his uncle Terry Bohrer in Delta, CO, in the summer of 2006, doing construction work - a memorable and formidable time in his life. He was also involved in mixed martial arts - a passion he shared with his brothers, reflecting his adventurous spirit and determination.

From a young age, Will knew aviation was his passion. Inspired by both his grandfather and his mother, who were pilots, he began pursuing flight early and went on to earn his pilot’s license, beginning what would become a lifelong career in aviation. Through years of dedication and training, he achieved his Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification — the highest level of pilot certification — and several other certifications and type ratings, including the Beechjet, Falcon, and Premier. Flying was a source of great pride for Will.

Throughout his career, Will had the privilege of traveling around the world, working in corporate aviation and flying for Bismarck Aero Center and Rocketman Jet Services. At the time of his death, he was working for his father-in-law, Jeff Knox, with Aurora Aviation, while continuing to share his passion for flying with his good friend Justin Voller of Rocketman. Together, they spent countless hours bonding over their shared love of aviation.

In 2007, Will married Andrea Muresan, and their beloved son, Jacob, was born on March 31, 2011. Becoming a father was one of the greatest blessings of his life. Later, in 2011, Will met the love of his life, Katie Knox. The pair began dating in 2013 and were married on July 25, 2015, building a life centered on faith, family, and love.

Will had a deep appreciation for history and music of all kinds. From Beethoven and Michael Jackson to Jimmy Buffet, he loved teaching Jacob about music. He and his brothers-in-law spent many late-night summer evenings at the family cabin, watching old music videos. He also had a passion for cooking, much to the delight of his family and friends. But more than anything, Will cherished time with his son. Whether they were hunting, fishing, working on cars, or simply being together, Will treasured every moment with him.

Will had a strong faith and a big heart for both people and animals. He, Katie, and Jacob shared a special love for their pets—Odie, Ferris, and Gizmo—who were cherished members of their family. He also found immense joy in being an uncle and valued the time he spent with his nieces and nephews.

Will was rarely seen without chapstick—often tucked behind his ear—one of the many small traits that those who loved him will fondly remember. He also had a special fondness for his Ford Bronco and often talked about owning another one someday.

Known for his selfless nature, Will cared deeply for those around him and always made sure others were taken care of. His kindness, generosity, and steady, loving presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Will is survived by his son, Jacob Bohrer, and wife, Katie Bohrer; parents, Doug and Cheryl Bohrer; brother, John (Selina) Bohrer; sister, Julie (Brandon) Roell; and grandmother, Estelle Sharpe. He is also survived by his father- and mother-in-law, Jeff and Linda Knox; sister-in-law Jordan (Benji) Schmitt; brother-in-law Kasey (Shelby) Knox; nieces, Camille and Dolly Roell, Ava Bohrer, Everlee, Emersyn, and Kambree Schmitt, and Lainey Knox; and nephews, James Bohrer and Noah Knox. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends who were like family to him.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Bohrer; nephew, Eli Roell; aunt,Nancy Haley; grandfather, William “Bill” Sharpe; and grandparents, Vernon and Erma Bohrer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1 PM, on Friday, March 13 at Hangar 6B, 2301 University Dr, Bismarck, ND.
