Winifred “Winnie” Medora (Kautz) Kramer, 90, passed away peacefully on July 18, 2025.

A memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Friday, July 25, 2025 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Parkway, Bismarck.

Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.

She was born on February 14, 1935 north of New Leipzig to William Kautz and Martha (Jacober) Kautz. She attended country school north of New Leipzig until 8th grade and graduated from New Leipzig High School in 1952. She taught in that same country school for a year. Winnie married Elmer Kramer on June 9, 1953 at Trinity Lutheran Church north of New Leipzig. The couple made their home and raised their children in Elgin. Winnie worked at Dakota Hill Housing for 14 years as the head cook. She worked most recently for Elgin Chiropractic Clinic for 20 years until her retirement well into her 80’s. Winnie was active in Zion Lutheran Church in Elgin, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, serving as president of WELCA. She was also a charter member of the Elgin Lioness club (and Elgin Dakota Lions) serving as President, Secretary and Director. Winnie sold Avon for many years and absolutely loved crafting and gardening.

Winnie will be greatly missed by her sisters, Holly Kautz (sister in law), Sylvia Miller, Doris (Norm) Gronwold, Janice (Dever) Nicklaus, her children, Keith Kramer, Jerry (Jan) Kramer, Kim (Fern) Moser and her grandchildren, Andrew (Suzanne) Kramer, Beth (Cory) Woodworth, Kelsey (Cayden) Smith, Ryan (Crystal) Kramer, Ashley (Jason) Frase, Kristen Moser, Robert Moser and great-grandchildren, Brannan, Ian, Aeden Kramer, Aria and Bryce Woodworth, Haizley Smith, Medora and Cache Kramer, Chloe and Eden Frase, and many nieces and nephews.

Waiting for her in heaven, her husband Elmer, her parents, William and Martha, her brother Orville Kautz, her brother-in-law, Harvey Miller, her daughter in law, Marie Kramer, and her great-granddaughter, Ayla Frase.
