Zlatan
Rašidović
August 22, 1968 – April 21, 2026
Zlatan “Z-Man” Rašidović, 57, Bismarck, ND, passed away on April 21, 2026.
A service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, April 25, at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.
Burial will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Bismarck.
Zlatan was born in Brezovo Polje, Bosna i Hercegovina, on August 22, 1968.
He graduated from JU Ekonomska Škola Brčko Distrikt.
Zlatan married Indira on September 7, 1991, and built an incredible life with her after facing unimaginable struggle. Their marriage, and their eldest son, Roman, survived a war-torn ex-Yugoslavia before moving to Germany in 1993-94, where they welcomed Arijan into the world, and eventually moved to the United States in 1997. It was in Bismarck, North Dakota that they would learn to speak English, find work, and continue to grow their family—having another boy, Edwin. Zlatan worked at Cloverdale Meats packaging food before he worked with his brother-in-law, Danko, installing cabinets, countertops, doors, you name it. They would go on to craft successful businesses, Z-Man Contracting Inc. and Danko Contracting Inc., and provide many services to the greater Bismarck community—even building houses in the area.
Zlatan had lived through some of the most horrible experiences humanity could have offered during his lifetime, yet he never failed to be the first one there for others. He always looked for ways that he could show up as a light in someone else’s life, and continuously did so for his wife, children, extended family, and countless others whom he met during his brief time here on this Earth.
He was happiest when surrounded by his family, holding a beer (Miller Lite in particular), and cooking something on the grill or over a fire. He constantly had to be doing something and rarely sat around. He enjoyed tending to his garden—his “relaxing” work—and could always be found working on various projects around his home and the homes of family members. If he were to be sitting around, however, he would be watching his favorite soccer team, Hajduk Split, or any other interesting matches he could find as he possessed a profound love for the sport. Zlatan was truly a one-of-a-kind man with a heart, and sense of humor, of gold. His presence and wisdom will be greatly missed.
Zlatan is survived by his wife, Indira; sons, Roman, Arijan, and Edwin; mother, Katica; sister, Jadranka Buzaković; brother, Miro Rašidović; daughter-in-law, Karoline; grandson, Mateo; brother-in law, Danko; sisters-in-law, Ajka, Ines, and Hedda; nieces, Anita, Edita, Edvina, Andrea, and Adriana; nephews, Bojan and Robert; and the many others who cared for him deeply.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ramiz Rašidović.
