Yvonne Peters

Yvonne Peters, 78, passed away Aug. 22, 2021. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 27 at Parkway Funeral Service, 2330 Tyler Pkwy, Bismarck.

Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Parkway Funeral Service, Bismarck.

Yvonne Faye (Dietz) Peters was born November 21, 1942, to Roy and Emma (Link) Dietz in Bismarck.  She graduated from Bismarck High School in 1960 and began working for the State of North Dakota in the Department of Transportation. 

In 1969, Yvonne set off to Santa Cruz, California, with friends to begin a new adventure.  There she met her husband, Roger, and they were married March 2, 1970, in Reno, Nevada.   They lived in Lake Tahoe, Calif., before moving back to Bismarck to be closer to her family.  

In 1970, Yvonne began her lifetime career as an instructor at Bismarck State College where she taught for over 45 years.  Yvonne loved teaching and loved her students earning her the Faculty Achievement Award in 1996.  

Yvonne was the second oldest of 11 children, which made family a very important part of her life.   In her spare time Yvonne loved puzzles, board games and crafting with friends and family.  She loved watching football on Sundays, especially when her favorite team, the Green Bay Packers, were playing.  

She will be missed dearly by her son, Brian; daughter, Amy (Kevin); grandchildren, Matthew, Kenton and Weston; and her loving siblings, nieces and nephews.  

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger; her parents, Roy and Emma; sisters, Sharon and Suzie; and brothers, Jim and Ron.
