Delmer M. Krein, 82, Bismarck, earned his wings on September 2, 2013.
Services will be held at 12:00 Noon Friday, September 6, at Capital Christian Center, 3838 Jericho Rd, Bismarck, with Pastor Dan Kent officiating.
Burial will be at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday, September 5, at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm.
Delmer was born on November 22, 1930, in Lehr, ND, the son of William and Pauline (Sprenger) Krein. He grew up and attended school in Kidder County and was confirmed in Logan County. He entered the U.S. Army in 1956 and was stationed in France. He was honorably discharged in 1959.
On May 15, 1960, he married Rosella "Sally" Schock, in Turtle Lake, ND. They made their home in Bismarck. Delmer worked for the Soo Line Railroad and worked construction. He drove semi-truck for over 40 years retiring from Sammon's Trucking. He was very proud of his million mile accident free record.
Following his retirement in 2000, he enjoyed mall walking and having coffee with his buddies at Arbys.
Delmer is survived by his wife, Sally, Bismarck; his children, John (Diane) Krein, Phoenix, AZ, Twila (Daryl) Wanner, Bismarck, Karen "Kim" (Shawn) McCarty, Glendale, AZ, and Larry (Tammy) Krein, Bismarck; step-grandson, Joseph Keller, Bismarck; his siblings, Ione Schmidkunz, Bismarck, and Duane (Donna) Krein, Mandan; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Gary Krein; brother, Marvin Krein; his sister, Alleen Kocsis; and an infant sister.
