Gary V. Wahl, 71, Mandan, died April 10, 2013, at his home in Mandan.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm Tuesday, April 16, at McCabe United Methodist Church, Bismarck, with Rev. Rick Fossum officiating.
Burial will be in the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan.
There will be no visitation. Cremation has taken place.
Gary V. Wahl was born September 6, 1941, in Jamestown, ND, the son of Norman V. and Grace (Bietz) Wahl. He was raised in Jamestown until 1953, when he moved to Bismarck where he was educated and graduated from Bismarck High School. Following graduation in 1959, Gary joined the US Navy and was honorably discharged in 1962. Gary married Vicki Vrtiska on July 17, 1966, in Beatrice, NE. He worked out of Beatrice for CBQ Railroad as a brakeman, yard foreman, out of the Lincoln Board for two years, then went into land acquisition for pipelines as a right-away supervisor in various states. Gary returned to the Bismarck/Mandan area in 1974 and returned to land acquisition in the oil field and coal industry. He also owned and operated Alamo Coins and Antiques with his wife, Vicki, until his retirement in 2003.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating with family and friends. He was a member of the Eagles, life-member of VFW and Elks, past-member of El Zagle Shriners, a master Mason Composite Lodge #81, Rising City, NE.
Gary is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Wendy and Steve Feeney, Bismarck, and Tracy and Kurt Miller, Mandan; his five grandchildren, MacKayla, Dalton and Cade (the one who looks like him) Feeney, and Easton and Gage (the one who acts like him) Miller; his sister, Bonnie (George) Carman, Bellingham, MN, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, Troy Wahl; his wife, Vicki Wahl; his parents, Norman and Grace Wahl; and brother, Terry Wahl.
